Hydroseeding – Efficient greening solution according to German DIN18918. From professionals to professionals.

Unfavorable soil conditions, poorly accessible areas or landscape areas with special requirements on the seed composition often make the use of sods for greening impossible and uneconomical. In this case, hydroseeding with special hydroseeding equipment offers an economical and fast alternative, where not only the choice of the right seed offers us countless possibilities, but special additives can also be added for areas at risk of erosion, raw soils with little topsoil application or for areas exposed to strong weather conditions.

The hydroseeding method

When hydroseeding, the optimum seed for the respective location, as well as mulch fibers, fertilizer, soil adhesive and other soil improvement materials are mixed in a special agitator tank (hydroseeder) and sprayed directly onto the area to be planted via a high-pressure spray lance. All materials are of course biologically harmless.

The result is an immediately erosion-protected sowing, which is additionally protected from drying out and other weather influences by the use of the mulching materials. The adhesive effect of the spray liquid can be individually adapted to the respective location by adjusting the application rates of soil adhesive and mulch fibers.

Often – especially in road construction – it is not primarily a matter of greening, but rather of reducing dust formation or temporary erosion protection.

Hydraulic seeding with a hydroseeding machine can also be the method of choice here.

Advantages of hydroseeding

–Profitability. The costs of hydroseeding amount to about 30% of the costs of greening with turf/roller turf.

–Immediate erosion protection through the use of soil adhesives until the area is rooted through.

–Suitable for raw soils poor in humus. If required, even screened top soil can be added.

–Ideal for steep slope plantings up to 65 degrees. No walking or driving on the area necessary.

–Individually adapted and combined seed mixtures of low-maintenance grasses and regional seed are possible.

–Uniform area coverage and dense vegetation.

–Spreading possible with all types of vehicles. Even with water vehicles or from the air.

–Water storage capacity of the spray mixture to support fast germination.

Areas of application

The hydroseeding technique can almost always be used, but is an excellent option:

–for the creation of all kinds of lawns,

–in unfavorable ground conditions,

–for immediate erosion protection,

–for slope stabilization,

–for the greening of slopes and poorly accessible areas,

–for creating large areas in parks and other public areas,

–as an economical alternative to turfgrass sods.
